Start Point lighthouse.

The Start Point Lighthouse is located in Devon. The lighthouse was built in 1836. The tower has a height of 28 m.
Built on a cliff, the focal plane is 62 m. Following the erosion of this cliff, many works were carried out.
The keeper’s houses, which were in the tower, were moved to new houses built nearby.
The optics are 1° and the range is 25 miles. An LED system has been used since 2019.
The lighthouse was automated in August 1992 and protected as a listed monument.

A keeper occupies one of the houses and takes care of the visits. The other two houses allow for overnight accommodation, a shop and a museum.

I would like to thank Nick Chappel, a technician at Trinity House, for his photos.
